Places for Parents still available on May 5 field trip

April 25, 2017

We have a few slots left for parents to attend the May 5 field trip with our class to the Healthworks Museum in South Bend. This is an all-day trip where we visit Healthworks and then have a picnic lunch at Potawatomi Park. There is no cost for parents to attend this trip, but you will need to have a completed background check done before going. Please let me know if you are interested.

Caterpillars invade our classroom!

April 22, 2017

We have begun our science unit on the life cycle of the butterfly. Our caterpillars are very small right now, but will grow quickly over the next few weeks. The students will also be taking photos on their iPads to document their progress. This unit is always a lot of fun and the kids really get into it.

Field Trips Coming Up…

On Friday, May 5, we will take an all-day field trip to the HealthWorks museum in South Bend.  We can only take a limited number of parents, so if you are interested in going on May 5, then please let me know. First come, first served 🙂

The cost of this field trip is $2.  Please send the money with the signed permission slip.

On Friday, May 12, we will take a short field trip up to the high school for their Food for America day to learn about agriculture in Indiana.  No parents needed for this hour-long trip.  No cost for this trip.  On May 22, we will walk to Syracuse Lakeside Park for the afternoon.

Please sign and return all three pages of the field trip permission form packet that is coming home today.  Also, please send in the $2 for the Healthworks trip.

Butterflies have Arrived!

Actually, they’re caterpillars right now, but they came this week.  The kids are so excited.  We’re going to get to watch them grow and change over the next few weeks as these caterpillars will eventually change into butterflies.  We will post updates on the student’s SeeSaw accounts.
