iPads Staying at School

Starting this week, the kids will be keeping their iPads here at school.  This is a new school policy where all students K-2 will be keeping their ipads here, unless the teacher needs them sent home for a specific reason, like upcoming e-learning days when bad weather is coming.  One of the big reasons we are keeping the ipads here is due to the high number of breakages our school has had with the young kids and the ipads.  Hopefully this will help.

Math

Math work this week has been involving making 10’s to add or subtract.  This has been a difficult concept, but the kids have been working hard at it.  There will be many things with our math curriculum this year that will challenge them to think in new ways.

Field Trip Permission Forms

If you haven’t sent in the permission slip yet for our upcoming field trip, please send that in.  Our class will be taking a field trip to visit the WACF (south of Syracuse) to learn about birds.  Our class and Mrs. Keim’s class will be going on the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 2 from 9-11 a.m.

Science – sorting animal categories

September 7, 2018

Today for science the kids learned about animal classification, which means sorting animals by their characteristics. We found out there are lots of different ways scientists sort animals, like by what they have on the outside, like scales or feathers. Or by whether they lay eggs or not.
