NWEA Testing

On Thursday, the students took the 2nd part of the NWEA test: Reading. The students worked really hard on both parts of the test. I look forward to looking at the results. When I get the final results from this round of tests, I will send a printout home.

We are continuing working on double-digit addition and subtraction with money amounts. This topic is short and we will probably wrap it up next week. Soon we will be working on measuring and time. Time is an important skill that you can practice with your child at home. So use any chance you get to have them practice telling you what time it is.

Don’t forget, the kids can practice their math skills at:

Writing “All-About Books”

We will spend the next few weeks working on All-About Books. The students have all picked a topic that they know “All-About”. Even though we will be working on this in class, if you can, its helpful if you can search for information with your student. You can find books at the library, or print off information from the internet. Even pictures printed off the internet can be a great help. Any extra resources you can find to send in can be helpful and give the kids ideas for their writing.

Valentines Day Party

We will have a Valentines Day Party on Thursday, Feb. 14. If you would like to help out, please let me know 🙂 I will send home a class list the week before so the kids can address their valentines.
