Healthworks Museum Field Trip – May 24 – Room for One More Parent

I still have room for one more parent if anyone would like to join us for the Healthworks field trip on Friday, May 24. It is an all-day field trip to South Bend. Let me know if you would like to go.

This week we worked on three-digit subtraction. The kids are doing pretty well with it, but sometimes they do make mistakes in forgetting to regroup. That’s pretty normal for second graders so that’s why we kept practicing this week to get better at it!

No Homework

Also, this week, I started giving the kids a chance to do their homework at school. Take the extra time to go outside and have fun!

Walk-a-Thon Next Week! (Wear a hat!)

The school Walk-a-Thon to raise money for the American Cancer Society will be on Thursday. Our class will walk in the morning for about 30 minutes. Our class theme is hats! So wear any kind of hat you want on Thursday for our Walk-a-Thon. You can bring in your donations that you collect any time this week. For each $10 the students bring in, they will receive a ticket to be in a drawing for prizes.

Upcoming Dates to Remember

Thur. May 23 – Family Picnic Day – Come have lunch with us at school!

Fri. May 24 – 2nd grade field trip to HealthWorks Museum in South Bend
Fri. May 31 – Afternoon at Syracuse Lakeside Park
