Healthworks Museum Field Trip Canceled
Due to a power outage in downtown South Bend today, we had to cancel our field trip today. We will let everyone know if we get a reschedule date…
Math
This week we started working on three-digit subtraction. The kids are off to a good start, but sometimes they do make mistakes in forgetting to regroup. That’s pretty normal for second graders so that’s why we will keep practicing next week to get better at it.
Writing Poetry
For writer’s workshop, the kids have been writing poetry. We have been mainly working on poems called Free Verse. This means the poems don’t have to rhyme. The kids have been doing an awesome job and are really good poets.
Poetry Reading Thursday, May 29 in our Classroom
To give the kids a chance to show off and share their poetry, we will be having a Poetry Reading in our class on Thursday, May 29 at 2:00 p.m. This is the same day as the Family Picnic Day so we hope maybe some of you will be able to join us for both events!
Upcoming Dates to Remember
Mon. May 26 – Memorial Day – No School
Thur. May 29 – Family Picnic Day – Come have lunch with us at school! – Then join us for the Poetry Reading in our class at 2:00!
Wed. June 4 – Last day of school!
