Newsletter and Spelling List – Week of March 9-13
Mr. Lucas Newsletter
Friday, March 6, 2015
This week we started using a new tool for the kids to think and write about their reading. We are using the Kidblog website in class. At this website, we have a section called the Lucas Lodge where the students can log in and post their comments about their reading. And the kids can reply to the other students in the class, too. They think its pretty cool and they have enjoyed using it this week.
We have been working on reading and understanding graphs and data in math. This week, the students worked with a partner to create a survey and collect data from the class to make into graphs. The kids asked questions like “What is your favorite video game?” or “What is your favorite ice cream flavor?”. The kids took the student answers and made them into graphs we have on display outside our classroom.
Donuts with Dad – March 20
Dads (or important male in your kid’s life) are invited to Donuts With Dads on Fri. March 20 from 7:45-8:15 a.m. here at the school. Come enjoy donuts and beverages and a free book for students.
SES ISTEP Video
Mrs. Stump created a music video to encourage the older kids for their ISTEP tests this week. We watched it in class, and the kids enjoyed it. If you haven’t seen it yet, here is the link:
