FFA Day at the High School
The kids had a lot of fun and learned new things at the high school today. High school students taught us about different farm animals like horses, rabbits, dogs and cats. Also, we learned about food that is grown in Indiana, like eggs, tomatoes and popcorn!
At this point in the year, we have been reviewing some material from earlier this year, as well as looking ahead at some skills that will help the kids next year in third grade. We have been introducing the concepts in multiplication, which will be a big part of third grade math.
You may have noticed that I haven’t given the kids any more homework this week. We will just get our work done in class. The kids can get outside and play after school 🙂
For writer’s workshop, the kids have been writing poetry. We have been mainly working on poems called Free Verse. This means the poems don’t have to rhyme. The kids have been doing an awesome job and are really good poets.
