Making our own paper

November 4, 2015

Today the students learned about recycling and how paper is made.  We had a visit from Mrs. Frood, she is from the Kosciusko County Recycling Depot.  She taught the students how wood fibers are turned into a messy muck called “slurry”, then pressed down to make paper.  The kids all made their own pieces of paper by smashing slurry down and draining the water out of it.  This was really cool!
