Readers Theatre Plays – Listen on the Web
This week the students practiced reading a play called “Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People’s Ears”. The kids all have parts and they practiced in small groups, working on making their parts sound like someone would really talk. I recorded the audio from all three groups and I will soon be posting them on our class website so you can listen to them:
No School Tomorrow
Tomorrow is a teacher workday for the end of the first trimester. There is no school tomorrow for students.
Have a great weekend!
We will be starting 2-digit subtraction next week. I teach the kids this saying: “If there’s more on top, no need to stop. If there’s more on floor, then go next door to get ten more”. This saying helps remind the kids to look to see if they need to regroup (“borrow”).
Report Cards Coming Next Friday
Teachers will be working on finishing grades for the first trimeter tomorrow. Report cards will be sent home next Friday. Just sign and return the yellow envelope. You may keep the report card.
Veterans Day Program Wednesday
We will have our annual Veterans Day program in the gym on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome to come help us celebrate the veterans in our families and communities.
Upcoming Dates to Remember
Nov. 6 – Teacher workday – no school
Nov. 25-27 – Thanksgiving Break – no school
