Syracuse Elementary Food Drive
Our school will be having its annual food drive from now until the week before Christmas Break. You can send in things like canned goods, paper products, boxed foods, hats, gloves, socks, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc. Please no frozen or glass items. Please help us collect as many items as we can!
This time of year students are going outside in snowy, wet conditions. To help keep our gym floor clean and safe, it is important that the students have gym shoes they can change into. Gym shoes don’t have to be new, just clean shoes that the kids can wear indoors. If you need assistance getting gym shoes, please let me know. Thanks.
Names on Coats
If you haven’t already, please put your child’s name or initials on his or her coat. Helps prevent lost items 🙂
Class Holiday Party and Gift Exchange
We will be having our class holiday party on the afternoon of Friday, December 18. At the party we will have a gift exchange. For the gift exchange, I’m asking each student to bring in 23 small items (one for each class member). These can be pencils, erasers, candies, small party favors, etc. Then, at the party, everyone will pass out their 23 gifts to everyone else. That way, all the kids will get the same thing and they will get lots of different stuff. Its always a lot of fun.
Visit to the Penguin Patch – Wednesday
Once again this year, the PTO is hosting the Penguin Patch. This is a “shop” where the kids can bring in money to buy Christmas gifts for their family. We will be visiting the Penguin Patch on Wednesday afternoon.
Class Plays on the Web
The students have practiced another Reader’s Theatre play this week, called “The Day I Followed the Pickle”. You can visit our class website to listen to the audio podcast of each group’s performance at:
