Trimester 2 Midterm Goes Home Today
The students will be bringing home their Trimester 2 midterms today. You may keep the papers inside the yellow envelope, then sign the envelope and return that to school on Monday.
Math
We finished our unit on measuring and took the test over that topic this week. We also did some math review and took the NWEA math test, as well. Next week we will begin our time unit. The important things the kids will need to know are how to tell time to the 5-minute mark, like 12:10 or 9:45. They will also learn about simple elapsed time and some other time skills.
No School on Monday
No school on Monday. It was a snow make-up day that we haven’t needed to use yet 🙂
Writing “All-About Books”
We have been working on All-About Books. Usually in second grade, the kids write “All About” books about things like video games, sports, a favorite movie or TV show, super heroes, animals, etc. I always enjoy the wide variety of topics the kids choose to write about 🙂
Reader’s Theatre: John Henry
This week we practiced a reader’s theatre play based on the American tall tale about John Henry. We recorded the kid’s reading the play and the plays will be posted at our classroom website:
