Math – Telling Time
We are working on telling time this week, learning how to tell time to the five-minute mark, like 1:25, 6:45, etc. This is a great skill you can help your child practice at home. We are also talking about AM and PM and using terms like “half past”.
Pete the Cat – Reader’s Theatre Videos on our Website
Most of the kids finally finished their first iMovie project on the iPad. They took the audio from the reader’s theatre play “Pete the Cat – Valentine’s Day is Cool” and put that with pictures from the book to make it into a video story book. The kids who are finished have their videos posted at our classroom website. Check them out!
We’ve got one more month to go for the kids to earn their trip to see the Fort Wayne Tincaps baseball game. Please make sure your child is reading at least 10 minutes every night and turning in their reading logs on Friday.
The kids have another fun website they can use to practice math skills. It is called Prodigy. The kids love it. They get to collect treasure and “battle” other wizards in the game. In order to do well, they have to answer math questions. This is a game they can play at home or anywhere they have internet access. Their username for the game is in their SeeSaw app.
