Parent-Teacher Conferences Oct. 8 and 10

First Word Work Test Today

Today our students took their first word work test of the year.  They had 10 words they had to spell and then listen to and write down a sentence I gave them using some of their words.  This is for their word work grade and part of their language grade.  A new list will come home on Monday for the next two weeks.  Please help your child study their words at home.

2^nd Grade Field Trip to WACF – Oct. 8 – Parents Needed

Our class needs some parents who can join us for our WACF field trip on Tue. Oct. 8.  Our class will be going for 2 hours from 9-11 a.m.  If you could join us, let me know.  **Parents joining us MUST HAVE completed background check.

Milk Jug Collection Final Week

SES is collecting clean, crushed and capped milk jugs for a recycling project with Polywood for one more week.  Our class leads 2^nd grade with over 200 jugs collected!!!

Writing Personal Stories

Our first main unit in writing is writing personal stories.  The students have been working on writing stories about themselves, working to include a beginning, middle and end.  We also have been working on remember to add capital letters and periods to sentences.  Students will be finishing this up in the next few days.

Boxes Needed

For an upcoming science project, I need small boxes, enough for each student to have one.  I need boxes that about the size of a shoebox.  If you can send one or more in, that would be appreciated.
